Before your appointment, please wash and blow dry your hair smooth the day or night before. If you have a finer hair type, are prone to an oily scalp, or simply prefer freshly washed hair, you may wash and blow dry it on the morning of your event instead.

If your hair is particularly frizzy, we recommend straightening it the day before your appointment. Please do not straighten your hair on the day of your event, as this can make it more difficult to style and reduce the longevity of your hairstyle.

If you have naturally curly hair and would like to wear your curls as part of your style, wash your hair at the time that gives your curls their best shape. You may apply your usual curl product if needed, but only sparingly. Too much product can make the hair difficult to work with and may affect the finished style.  On the day, we will redefine your natural curls with a small wand.

We recommend shampooing your hair twice (or three times if needed), focusing on the roots and massaging your scalp thoroughly to remove oil, dirt, and product build up. Be sure to apply shampoo to your entire scalp, including underneath the hair at the back of your head, not just the top. Condition your hair once, applying conditioner only from the mid lengths to the ends. Avoid applying conditioner to your scalp. Finally, rinse your hair thoroughly to ensure all conditioner has been removed. Hair that is clean and free from excess product provides the best foundation for a long lasting hairstyle.

All clients receiving hair styling services (other than a Blow Wave) must have completely dry hair before their appointment. If you have booked a Blow Wave, please wash your hair on the morning of your event so that it is slightly damp when your stylist arrives. This will ensure the best possible result and allow enough time for your Blow Wave service.

Please avoid using deep conditioning treatments or hair masks for at least 7 days before your event, as they can leave the hair too soft and make it more difficult for styles to hold.

On the day of your appointment, do not apply any styling products to your hair. The only exception is a light heat protectant, if you are blow drying or straightening your hair the day before your event. Clean, product free hair provides the best foundation for a long lasting hairstyle.

We provide a complimentary touch up kit with all makeup services to help keep your makeup looking fresh throughout the day.

If you have a favourite lipstick that you’d like to wear, we encourage you to bring it with you. Using your own lipstick allows for easy touch ups and helps reduce unnecessary use of single use plastic pots, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

We recommend steaming all garments before your event day wherever possible. Steaming can be time consuming and should be avoided once your hair and makeup have been completed, as it can affect the longevity and finish of your styling.

Please ensure these preparation instructions are shared with everyone receiving hair and/or makeup services on the day. Following these guidelines will help us achieve the best possible results and keep everything running smoothly and on schedule.
