PAYMENT TERMS

A non-refundable booking fee of 30% of the total booking value is required to secure your booking date. Your booking is not confirmed until the booking fee has been received. By paying the booking fee, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

The booking fee reserves your date and covers the administration, consultation, scheduling, expert advice and preparation undertaken before your event. It is not transferable to another person.

The remaining balance is due in full no later than 14 days before your event date. If a booking is made within 14 days of the appointment date, full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your appointment.

We do not accept payment on the day of your appointment. All payments must be made in advance by the due date specified on your invoice. Cash payments on the day will not be accepted.

CANCELLATIONS 

If you choose to cancel your booking for any reason, including but not limited to illness, pandemics, changes to government regulations, adverse weather, travel disruptions, venue closures, or changes in personal or financial circumstances, the booking fee is non-refundable.

Where the remaining balance has already been paid, any refund of that balance will be at the discretion of Makeup Station, taking into account the timing of the cancellation, work already completed, and any costs incurred.

FORCE MAJEURE

Neither the Client nor Makeup Station will be responsible for any delay or failure to perform their obligations where performance is prevented by circumstances beyond their reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, severe weather, flooding, road closures, earthquakes, natural disasters, government restrictions, transport disruptions, accidents, pandemics, venue closures or other emergencies.

Where Makeup Station is prevented from attending due to a Force Majeure event, we will make reasonable efforts to source a suitably qualified replacement artist.

If a replacement artist cannot be secured, Makeup Station may, at its discretion:

• transfer the booking value to a future booking within 12 months, subject to availability;
• retain the non-refundable booking fee and refund part or all of the remaining balance; or
• offer another fair resolution appropriate to the circumstances.

POSTPONEMENTS 

If you need to postpone your booking, we are happy to transfer your booking fee to a new date within 12 months of the original booking date, subject to our availability.

Requests to postpone must be made before the scheduled booking time.

If we are unavailable on your requested date, or the new booking date is more than 12 months after the original booking date, the booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Postponed bookings will be charged at the prices applicable on the new booking date.

CHANGES TO BOOKING NUMBERS

We are happy to accommodate changes to your booking numbers where possible.

If you would like to add additional services to your booking, we will do our best to accommodate them using the artist(s) already booked for your date or, where availability allows, arrange an additional artist.

Services may be reduced up to 60 days prior to your event date.

• Within 60 days of your event: Any services removed from your booking will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the original quoted service value.
• Within 30 days of your event: Any services removed from your booking will be charged in full.

Your booking is confirmed based on the number of services requested, and we reserve your artists accordingly. As a result, we may decline other bookings for your event date. If someone in your party no longer requires a service, we recommend offering the appointment to another guest who may wish to have their hair or makeup professionally done instead.

WEDDING PRICES 

All wedding prices stated on our website are to include a bride plus bridal party. If you are wanting bridal only services, our price will be quoted pending booking confirmation. 

Our team is not obliged to stay and do additional touch-ups once our services are completed. Should you want this additional service, please advise when finalising your booking. 

TRAVEL/PARKING 

Travel fees are calculated at the IRD recommended rate of $1.20 per kilometre (return) from the applicable city centre, plus any tolls, per artist. A minimum travel fee of $50 per artist applies.

For bookings outside central city areas, an additional travel time charge of $40 per artist, per hour, applies, as our artists are unavailable to accept other bookings during this time.

Where travel exceeds 2.5 hours, suitable overnight accommodation must be provided or paid for by the client.

PREVIEWS 

Preview appointments are non-refundable once completed.

We will do our very best to accommodate your preferred preview date; however, as weekends are reserved for weddings and special events, we kindly ask that you be flexible and, where possible, book your preview between Monday and Thursday.

To ensure the best experience and allow our artists to focus on you and your look, we recommend attending your preview on your own. Additional guests can be distracting during the consultation and application process, making it more difficult for us to provide you with our full attention.

ALLERGIES 

It is the client’s responsibility to inform our team of any known allergies, skin sensitivities, or medical conditions that may affect the application of hair or makeup services for themselves or anyone in their booking.

If you have particularly sensitive skin or know that you react to certain products or ingredients, we recommend bringing your own preferred products for our artists to use where appropriate.

IMAGES 

As a creative business, it is important for us to continually update our portfolio and showcase our work to future clients. Our team may take photographs or short videos on the day for use on our website, social media, and other marketing materials.

If you or anyone in your booking does not wish to be photographed or featured in our marketing, please notify us in writing prior to your event, and we will happily respect your wishes.

We would also love to see your professional photos once they are available. If you’re happy to share them with us, we would be incredibly grateful. A gallery link provided by your photographer is ideal, as it allows us to access the highest-quality images while ensuring appropriate credit can be given.

RIGHTS RESERVED 

Makeup Station reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where these Terms and Conditions are breached, where abusive or unsafe behaviour occurs, or where circumstances arise that make it unreasonable or unsafe for our team to perform the booking. Where applicable, any refund will be determined in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and New Zealand law.
